Amazing Mountain Hotel
The quite big volume of this project has been divided into a sequence of small buildings – high and narrow – that draws a sort of line upstream in the valley. Entirely covered with wood, with roofs in shingles, these volumes are astonishing for their empty façades that are perforated by loggias – even double-height – and large glass-panels, something which is quite unusual for mountain climates.

The garden became intrinsic to the design. A large rock that sat in the hill to the rear of the house became focal element in the new architectural composition. With the underlying philosophy of relative modesty, the new form is setback, maintaining existing amenity enjoyed by neighbours.
